Genesis Moran

"Hacia dónde va el Universo?" [Where is the Universe going?], is the question that initiates the movement in Genesis Moran's piece ignis. Using spoken word poetry in both English and Spanish the viewer is taken on a philosophical journey is which the topics of Astronomy, Technology and Society are touched. ignis—which is the latin word for fire—explores the view that black holes emit radiation and hold the possibility to take whoever happens to fall into one to an alternate Universe. Moran makes the argument that we have our own versions of black holes right here on planet Earth. These black holes exist within the worlds that our technologies take us to. We are shown possibilities and are lead to interpret the vastness that’s unfamiliar with the specifics we encounter daily.
