Docents Takeover

April 28–May 9, 2015

Curatorial Statement

Docents Takeover is a two-week guerrilla art show that seeks to utilize notions of upcycling and social sculpture to create ephemeral art within a space in flux. The work is conceived, created and curated by members of the student docent staff. As our spring exhibition closes and we anticipate the coming student exhibition opening May 11, Docents Takeover finds opportunity for novel expression in the interim.

Docents Takeover is curated and created by Michael Blaine, Ivan Calderon, Yuna Chong, Mohamed Hassan, and Erica Ly, the student staff of the New Media Artspace. The exhibition is made possible by support from the Baruch Computing and Technology Center (BCTC), and the Department of Fine and Performing Arts.
