About the work
Falsecolor is a photographic series exploring a romantic and dreamlike relationship with the environment, viewed through the lens of technology. Captured using infrared and full spectrum cameras, the series transforms ordinary urban and natural landscapes into surreal, pastel-toned visions—scenes that resemble the cherry blossom-filled vistas of imagined utopias. These images are not simulations of reality, but emotional renderings—attempts to reconnect with nature in a digital age where disconnection from the physical world has become increasingly normalized.
In Falsecolor, technology is both the medium and the mediator of love. Shot by modified camera to reveal invisible spectrums of light, serve as metaphors for the hidden layers of intimacy we experience online and with our environment. This work questions how digital tools can foster new modes of affection, not just between people, but between humans and the more-than-human world. It suggests a form of radical care born from longing: a pixelated, coded romance with the earth, rendered in soft pinks and spectral hues.
In an era of mediated intimacy, Falsecolor invites us to consider what it means to fall in love with the planet again through the screen, through altered vision, and through a technological gaze that, paradoxically, reveals the sacred.
