About the work
BAKA-NE is a dating simulator where the only thing you can truly romance is your own expectations. You choose, you type, you wait — and maybe, if you're lucky, you’ll be ignored with extra tenderness.
Inspired by the endless scroll of “seen” messages and the quiet drama of unrequited love, this work invites players to flirt with silence, to confess into a void dressed up like a chat box. It’s not about winning hearts — it’s about staying just long enough to realize you already gave yours away.
✨𝓹𝓾𝓻𝓮 𝓹𝓸𝓮𝓽𝓲𝓬 𝓮𝓭𝓲𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷✨ — a collection of unread love letters from players who never got a reply. This web-based edition of BAKA-NE gathers every message sent by players from the physical edition who tried, hoped, waited — and leaves them on display like petals in a digital shrine. Each message appears one by one, mimicking the rhythm of a real chat. But there’s no one typing back. No reply bubble. Just the voices of one-sided lovers, layered endlessly across time. It’s no longer a game. It’s a loop. A shared soliloquy. A collective heartbreak. A gallery of what we say when no one’s listening. And maybe that’s the most honest version of love we’ve ever known.
About the artist
Tewprai is a web developer and contemporary artist. His work explores the intersection of human vulnerability
and digital technology in the age of free internet access—though sometimes, it's just a playful idea he can’t
resist. Driven by the challenge of finding the right form to express his ideas, Tewprai often gravitates
toward video and installation. While his medium may vary, the heart of his work remains the same: an
invitation to reflect on the absurd, yet profoundly human, experience of living in a digital world. Reach out
to him if you’d like to discuss his work, share ideas, or just say hi!
